Cookie & Storage Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

In short

“Cookies” is shorthand for anything a website keeps in your browser. Here is velzo’s complete inventory — every key, what it does, and how long it lives.

Your preferences (localStorage)

These make velzo remember your choices between visits. They stay in your browser until you clear them and are never used for tracking.

KeyPurposeLifetime
velzo.lastPairThe language pair you last chose, so the feed resumes where you left offUntil you clear it
velzo.alwaysRevealYour “always show the translation” settingUntil you clear it
velzo.feedThemeYour dark/light feed preferenceUntil you clear it

Anonymous statistics (only if you haven’t opted out)

Random identifiers for the anonymous usage statistics described in the privacy policy. None of these are created when your browser sends Do-Not-Track or Global Privacy Control.

KeyWherePurposeLifetime
velzo.vidlocalStorageRandom visitor identifier (a UUID) so repeat visits count as one visitor, not manyUntil you clear it
velzo.sidsessionStorageRandom identifier for the current sessionDeleted when the tab closes
velzo.sstart, velzo.slast, velzo.sdepthsessionStorageSession start time, last activity, and scroll depth — used to measure session lengthDeleted when the tab closes

Cookies from our infrastructure

velzo itself sets no cookies. Cloudflare, which delivers the site and protects it from abuse, may set strictly-necessary security cookies (for example, for bot protection). These are functional, not used for marketing, and outside them there are no third-party cookies of any kind on velzo.

How to clear or opt out

Changes

If we ever add a stored key — for example, if advertising is introduced (see the privacy policy) — this table will be updated first, and consent will be requested where required.
