Yes. There’s no paywall, no premium tier, and no locked content. We may show ads in the future to keep it free — if that happens, we’ll say so clearly and update our privacy policy first.

No — and you can’t create one even if you want to. velzo has no accounts at all. You open the site and start learning. Your preferences (like your language pair) are saved in your own browser, not on our servers.

Every card is generated with AI, cross-checked against independent machine translation, and reviewed by a human before it’s published. For English ↔ Georgian, a person has looked at every single card. That said, language is messy and errors are possible — velzo is a learning aid, not a certified translation service. If something looks wrong, report it.

Honestly: yes, AI does the first draft. Words, example sentences, and illustrations are AI-generated — that’s what makes a free app with thousands of cards possible. The part we don’t automate is judgment: humans review content before it goes live, and reader reports feed back into fixes.

Yes. Each card’s illustration is generated for that word and reviewed along with the rest of the card. They are there to make words memorable, not to depict real people, products, or places.

Right now: English ↔ Georgian, in both directions. It’s our launch pair and gets the most care. More pairs are coming — tell us which one you want and it genuinely influences what we build next.

Not yet — you need an internet connection. The pages are very light, though, so velzo works fine on slow connections.

We keep anonymous usage statistics — things like “a card was viewed” or “a translation was tapped” — tied to a random identifier in your browser, never to a name, email, or profile (we don’t have any of those). No cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting, no selling data. If your browser sends Do-Not-Track or Global Privacy Control, we turn analytics off entirely. Details in the privacy policy.

Your preferences (language pair, feed theme, the “always reveal” setting) and, unless you’ve opted out, a random anonymous identifier for statistics. No marketing cookies, ever. The cookie & storage policy lists every key and what it’s for.

Maybe, eventually — a free product has to pay for its servers somehow. If we introduce ads, we’ll update the privacy policy first and add a proper consent mechanism before anything changes. We won’t sneak it in.

Personal learning use — including screenshots for your notes — is absolutely fine. Republishing or bulk-copying our cards, sentences, or illustrations isn’t; see the terms of use. If you have something bigger in mind (a classroom, a research project), just ask.

Yes. There are no accounts, no chat, no user-generated content, and no personal data collection, which makes velzo naturally classroom-friendly. Content is human-reviewed before publishing.
